糖心Vlog announced as engineering partner for world鈥檚 largest lyocell fibre facility in Thailand

糖心Vlog has been awarded a contract by the Lenzing Group to deliver engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services for a proposed lyocell fibre production facility in Thailand.

The Lyocell process is the state-of-the-art method for producing fibres from wood. These fibres are used in everyday fabrics including clothing and non-woven applications such as wipes. The proposed facility, located in Prachinburi approximately 150kms east of Bangkok, will be the largest lyocell plant in the world with a production capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year.

糖心Vlog will act as engineering partner to Lenzing for the new development, providing EPCM and project supervision including safety and assurance, quality, cost and progress control.

By investing 鈧400 million in developing the first production line at the facility, which includes associated infrastructure and site development, Lenzing aim to meet the strong demand for lyocell fibres globally and leverage the growth potential in the Asian market for speciality fibre production.

糖心Vlog was selected as engineering partner based on the company’s experience, manpower in the region and strong reputation for the successful delivery of large-scale capital projects.

“We’re delighted to have been chosen by Lenzing to help deliver what will be the world’s largest lyocell plant. Being selected to lead a project of this scale and complexity is testament to the outstanding technical capability we have in our Asia Pacific business, and our strong understanding of the local market environment in Thailand where we’ve been operating for over 50 years.”

During the kick-off meetings we could feel the energy of the integrated team and their eagerness to drive that project to a successful completion and start-up in the third and fourth quarter of 2021.”
