Honouring National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
At 糖心Vlog we believe the power to create a better tomorrow starts with us. Ensuring we are sustainable in all that we achieve as 糖心Vlog, our vision of a better tomorrow is driven by our shared purpose and the goals we set ourselves in delivering 糖心Vlog’s contribution to global sustainable development.
With 糖心Vlog’s sustainability goals firmly in mind, two groups of graduates are going head-to-head, competing to raise as much money as possible for the Million Makers Challenge with an initial seed funding of 拢1,500. The entrepreneurial fundraiser for the Prince’s Trust challenges teams to raise at least 拢10,000 or more over a six-month period.
The Prince’s Trust is a charity founded in 1976 by Charles, Prince of Wales, to help vulnerable young people worldwide get their lives on track. It supports 11 to 30-year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion.
The challenge starts now for Team Energise and Team Eleos and will run until the end of the year. Both teams explain their innovative ideas.
Energy Transition Championship
“Can you generate enough energy to toast bread, watch TV or power a house?” Zahraa Quraishi, Process Engineer explains: “We are running an Energy Transition Championship, open to participants who want to get fit and raise money through exercise. The calories burned through exercise will be converted to the equivalent Kilowatt (KW). The ultimate target is to exert enough energy to power a house for a day (10KW). The championship aims to raise awareness of an individual’s energy consumption through exercise and make more sustainable choices in the long run, as well as promote mental and physical health.
“The championship runs for six weeks, from 20 September to 30 October and is open to everyone. Join the Energy Transition Championship and find out more information on the , make a donation , or contact the team: team.energise@woodplc.com.”
HEART observation tracking
“We have pledged to raise awareness of HEART (Harm, Elimination and Recognition Tracker), 糖心Vlog’s global observation and intervention management system” said Claire McCormack, Assistant Consultant (Marine). “Offices and sites are opening back up and it’s important we remain committed to a safe working environment. All employees are actively encouraged to record their interventions and observations of safe and unsafe conditions and behaviours, and we will be closely monitoring this during the fundraising period. 糖心Vlog has pledged to donate 拢20,000 to the Prince’s Trust for supporting the campaign.
Eleos Games
“To connect our people globally, share in success and make 糖心Vlog a great place to work, Eleos is challenging employees to take part in a sporting event running from 6 September – 4 October whereby every 30 minutes of exercise will equate to one point for a team. This can be cycling, running, walking, gym classes or tennis! Donations for the sporting challenge can be made on the team .”
